There was a great article about Chinese car central screens suddenly showing adverts.

So.
1. Everything goes to electric.
2. All switches are rounded up and put on the central telly
3. Thousands of new functions are added in sub-sub-sub menus.
4. Then you put adverts on which block access for 20 seconds at a time.

Next will be if you like "steering" then you might like "indicator" (unless it's an Audi of course ) which will move into if you like "braking" then can we sell you a monthly subscription to "brake lights".

Cultural standards are so varied, expectations so different that what is perfectly reasonable to one might be nuts to another!

The only way to get change is not to buy cars with such stupid and money making grifts.

Most of this stuff you don't need anyway.

We have a new Chinese 4x4 pick up at work. Took it out for 5 minutes the other night and it gave me a headache! To many warnings going off all the time. Give me a old car anytime. Why do I need a warning for to say I'm reversing.

Apart from interrupting Radio 4 broadcasts with excerpts from Chairman Mao, it's been flawless.

The annoyance the 'Driving Assistance' is causing my Nephew in his big VW pickup once it hits rural roads ... I reckon he'd pay £35 a monthe to have it removed! ....🙂

It's downright dangerous on the narrow country roads that make up most of his driving ... and you can't just disable it ... you have to go through multiple screens and taps every single time you drive the thing (presumably so VW lawyers can say you deliberately decided to do without it every single trip if something happens)
