Hi all,

As you may know - I am in the market for a Plus Six (contact me IF you are thinking of selling!).

However, when buying what sort of things should I be looking out for please? I am well aware of the radiator issues.....anything else, please? Thanks

'things to watch for'........................ probably everything...!
It was an en expensive and complex car built in a shed (sheds) by hand......... with component from the parts bins of many other manufacturers and it's a Morgan........what could possibly go wrong.....!!!
Take someone with you who knows what they're doing, buy from someone you trust, get a good warranty be prepared for (many) ongoing 'development' issues/costs.....!
This is possibly true of all Morgans but the more complex modern cars probably need a greater degree of 'commitment' from the prospective buyer...... a brave choice.....😆

Our car is a Easter build 2020 Plus Six, all the area's mentioned were sorted by dealer or factory within 18 months, the only other later failures were the auto light sensor, the overseer module, and rear brake calipers, again, replaced by dealer. No issues since.
I believe by the MY22 build year of the Plus Six most if not all the issues identified in the early builds had been addressed by the factory. Our car just purrs along now, just the normal Morgan day to day related small issues to address.
Would I change our car now.. no its sorted and drives well, plus we have sort of bonded with her.

I have to say (MY23) that I haven't experienced most of the above (no problems of collapsing suspension, wiper arms, wiper linkage, blade judder, bonnet fitting, paint, brake pedal, front wheel hitting lower suspension arms). I have had brake squeal at very low speeds and poor door sealing, solved by MMC under warranty.

I'd be perfectly happy to buy a sorted 2019 or 2020 Plus Six, but I wanted ESC and Airbags, and they were introduced to the car in 2023.

Hi Julian
I agree - buying a Plus Six is perhaps a 'brave choice?' However, as proven by the mileage some Plus Six's have now covered (in 5 years, since inception) it is not all gloom and doom. Yes Morgan be better, however, every car brand (or any car) can have its concerns?

I have now heard of 2 Plus Six's that have now done over 30,000 miles, the engine and gear boxes have proven to be 100%, OK some of the other Morgan bits have been a challenge...but hey ho, lets be a bit different. I don't want to own a Porsche Boxster??

I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation from an £80k car............🤷🏻‍♂️😁

My PlusFour runs perfectly... and I've driven 38,000 km in two and a half years.

Yes, that's the one thing I would ask to be removed!

Definitely. A 20% increase in power over a stock Plus Six would appear to be a triumph of ego over rationality.

I reckon once the price drops into the mid to high £20s it will be a reasonably attractive purchase for someone who's happy to bash a few panels about and not too fussy about the 'finish'.

Would be an awesome car for that price.

Iris Blue was a standard BMC colour. Looked good on Frogeye Sprites and Minivans.
