Greetings fellow Morgan aficionados! I took the plunge a month or so ago and am now the owner of a 2020 Plus Four. I can't in all honesty claim that I come to Morgan having realised a long held dream. Quite the opposite, to be frank. A Morgan was never really on my radar Let me explain. I am retired after a career in the car industry - I will not bore you with a detailed CV, but back in the '80s I was Marketing Director at BMW GB, and in the '90s Managing Director of Alfa Romeo GB and then, via BMW, Managing Director of Land Rover UK National Sales Co, and in the noughties Managing Director of Subaru UK. To be brutally honest throughout that time Morgan barely registered with me, given it occupies such a small niche in the market, and a predisposition to think of it as a car for old boys in tweed caps, and string-back driving gloves twirling a wooden steering wheel whilst holding up the traffic on scenic "b" roads.
But all that changed with a house move to Malvern (it's a terrific place to live BTW) and where, inevitably, I saw the odd Morgan around and about I thought I should give the factory a visit. Well after that, I hired a Plus Four for a weekend. It was fun, I liked it. It seemed a very appealing combination of timeless classic car styling with up to the minute underpinnings and power, and with the performance and useability to match. I'm a BMW man at heart, and at the heart of a Plus Four is the BMW B48. But I wasn't quite ready to take the plunge immediately. The price tag for a new one was just more than I wanted to spend on a fourth car in the garage, and the asking anti even for used is not insignificant.Further, the alternatives at that price point- just to have something interesting in the garage - are also very enticing. But in the end, and having followed the market for a while I was able to secure one, at what seems to be a reasonable price, and so far so good it's been a delight.
And now I look forward to contributing here from time to time, and drawing on your resources of knowledge and experience as and when I need to confer.

Welcome to TM!

With your Plus Four and a Puma 90 soft top, I'm sure you'll find many kindred spirits in this community.

I'm also hoping you have an E30 M3 tucked away in your garage, purchased during your time with BMW!

Wishing you many happy miles behind the wheel of your Plus Four.

Welcome, you have found the only place to be amongst a very friendly and knowledgeable group of people My Morgan exposure goes back to the mid '60's when I was an callow youth, a had a go in what I assume was a 4/4 and it was a forever moment, however I had to wait a long time to get my first one ( I'm on number 5 now ) They are like nothing else on the road and give many miles of pleasure not only to us lucky owners but also those lucky enough to see us drive past, I do hope you get a lot of pleasure from the car and your membership of T.M.
