My 2011 plus 4 SS which I collrcted yesterday from Allon White seems to have a heater that I cannot turn off completely! I had to shut the vents under the dash to stop the warm air flow.this later car has the heater control on the dashboard
Has anybody else come across this problem.?
Phil at Allon White said they never turn off completely, apparently the plus 8 is the same

Totally untrue, the cable outer needs adjusting, and they know how to do it! Rob in the workshop did mine on an 08 car as it was delivered with just 3 click
Is on the control knob. I put a photo on the galleries, used to be on page 15, of how the clip needs removing, move the knob to the closed (fully left) position and then move the heater quadrent in the photo to fully closed and refit the clip. Takes all of 5 min! If you were taking photos of your car prior to collection I was the bloke talking to Phil and John when you were there and offered to take a photo of you standing by your car ;-).....if correct it's a small world ;-).

Do you mean heat setting not selectable to cold air or unable to stop the air blowing when parked up?

There will always be airflow coming through the vents when moving but you can set it to cold. There should be about 5 clicks on the heat control and a 2 speed fan.

One problem is warm air about the engine bay that get in past the gap in the foam rubber for the bonnet hinge.

Mine's in being fettled at the minute, hot air comes through at all times even when the cold settings are selected. According to the dealer it's a known issue, there is a something or other that sticks shut when it shouldn't. That's my technical explanation!

We had one warm day last weekend which turned into a very hot day.

Thank you for the replies. Hi Colin yes it was you who offered the pic. I collected Friday from Phil. I did ring him as at a nearby hotel but he said is a problem but your comments obviously are closer to the truth. When I get home tomorrow afternoon I will look into your fix. The heater control knob is pretty stiff too.

Ooh, I only have 4 clicks, time to adjust when I do my dash upgrading.
