Hi
Can anyone help in describing the process to remove the driveshaft in order to replace the gearbox real seal on a 4/4 with Mazda gearbox?
Many thanks

Mark the flanges so they go back in the right places, unbolt at the diff end and pull out.

Put it back with the marks aligned.

Welcome to TM Andy. Tell us a little about yourself and your car. You'll soon feel at home.

Peter thanks for the welcome message,
As a quick introduction:- I am a South Africa but living in southern Germany since 1997. I purchased a 4/4 last year new in the UK and drove it to Germany. At the moment am looking for MOG owners in DE but in the south there dont seem to be many at all. The reason for the Blog was the Morgan has developed a gearbox leak on the seal to the propshaft. There seems almost no info on the net on the new cars with the Mazda MX5 gearbox.
regards
Andy

It depends on whether the gearbox has a splined sliding joint or flange. I suspect it will be a flange, so as above, mark before you separate. Access is from inside the car. Seats out then tunnel out.

It's still under warranty...any chance you can get it to a dealer? Not that there any in southern Germany.
