Hello,

I am new to the forum and I would like to ask for a little help and advise please.

My Father has always had Morgans, mainly Plus 4’s and 8’s. Sadly my Father passed away a few weeks ago and I am currently in the middle of sorting out his estate.

Unbeknown to me, he has a 1986 4/4 in the garage which needs to be valued for the purposes of probate.

Does anyone have any reccomendations for a reputable dealer or specialist that could provide a valuation in the north Shropshire area?

I have spoken with a few dealers in Reading etc but I would need to get the vehicle to them.

As I say, any help would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Jamie

You could give Williams a call in Gloucester 01454 315112 they visit the factory quite often I believe.

Also have a word with Roger at Harpers 01923 260299 he travels a lot buying Morgan's leave a message if he's not there.

They are both fair traders IMO.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

Kevin Vernon's in Shropshire, there's nothing he doesn't know about valuing Morgans. He'd be happy to give a valuation. I'll PM you his contact number.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I know what it is like. Will you be keeping the car as a memory of your father?

Lots of good suggestions already on who to approach. I would add one further comment. Dealers' valuations are often given for insurance purposes and, as such, are 'optmistic' (to allow for a cherished pride and joy to be replaced at retail prices). Whilst I am not suggesting you mislead HMRC, you need a realistic valuation along the lines of "what would you offer me right now to take the car away?" Which will of course be significantly lower than the normal insurance-type valuation. Apologies if this is self-evident & I'm not trying to patronise.

I'd come to the conclusion Roger Davies had retired. If that's not the case then an update to the thread Harpers Morgan still exists? would be useful.

Apologies for the sidetrack, very sorry for your loss Jamie.

He did adeal with me to take my +8 against a duratec 4/4. I know his web sight doesn't seem to change for a long time.

Apologies for the sidetrack, very sorry for your loss Jamie.

I haven't contacted him since I bought my present car off him 4 years ago, I have his mobile number somewhere and if I can find it I'll try it out and see what the score is.
