Just been watching a great episode of 'Wheeler Dealers' (Mike Brewer and Ed China)

Rebuilding a 4/4 with a rotten chassis... excellent educational version!

Bought for £13k. £ 1.6 k in parts! Add 130 man hours rebuild time (for a seasoned pro!), new front and rear suspension etc etc and it looks great!

Resold to the trade for £21k...

Fun show. :>)

Where considerable work was carried out after their "rebuild" if I remember correctly.

It's been mentioned a few times on here in the past, the most extensive discussions can be found in these two threads from 2012:

Morgan +4 on Wheeler Dealers

Wheeler Dealers

I seem to recall that the car was sourced through this forum and eventually bought by a TM member!

Exactly! Dont believe things you see on the TV or read in the newspapers.

We all know a Morgan chassis didnt cost £600 even in 2012.

And if you watch Antiques Road Trip where the contestants knock antiques dealers down on prices, its all a set up too as the BBC pay the dealers the full price behind the scenes.

I see the video a few years ago and couldn't believe it's real.

I also see the video with the classic MINI. Not all work was done in the best way and if you are in MINIs you see it.
So the bootlidopener was fixed in the wrong way, but that was only a small detail. You see it directly and to vure it is a five minute work. So if this detail is wrong, what's about the other work? Also lefthanded?

I think no guy will pay such money to this car or he/ she is totally grazy.

Watching TV and the real world are two pairs of socks. (Or sockets? ;-) )

I have heard some sorry tales regarding the "Wheeler Dealer" Delorean that was featured some time ago.
The "For Love of Cars" Delorean rebuild and auction was a more authentic restoration.

Interesting but not viable. Cost the time at £50 per hour and you just break even. Its what people always say about restorations namely that its better to buy after restoration than to buy the wreck and then restore

Mind you that program has been on TV so many times over so many years that they will have made serious money on TV rights. Which is I suppose their business model.
