Recently I fitted new brake pads & shoes together with fixing kits and new brake hoses. I did not find Caparo brake part numbers to be of much use, except for wheel cylinders. Since Caparo brake parts are no longer manufactured these numbers do not appear to be recognised on web sites. I have found some motor factors and a lot of web sites will struggle to find any part numbers for Morgans, and don’t seem to be able to do anything with a Morgan VIN number either. No surprise! However, armed with the correct part number you can make a killing. I have gone for TRW part numbers since they are a big player in the after market. If you prefer a different manufacturer you can get the equivalent part numbers from these. They are standard spec parts, not racing specs! I have included the price, (inc VAT) that I paid from an online supplier. Front pad set TRW GDB752 £8.41 fitting kit TRW PFK131 £2.84 Rear shoe set TRW GS6140 £16.65 Fitting kit TRW SFK111 £9.39 I could not be sure if TRW did the appropriate brake hoses so I settled on brake hoses from www.nelsonstokes.com which are a direct fit. The part number, which does not appear online, is H6497. This comes with a metal spiral reinforcement. If you prefer plastic reinforcements they will do that for the same price. At £4.724 per hose, I needed three, and with p.& p. and 24 hour delivery I paid £23.18 all in. The one they list online is for a +8 is for Ford sierra and does not have the correct reinforcement. Usual disclaimers etc. etc..

Thanks for this extremely useful information. The prices quoted are very keen...a very quick look at suppliers on ebay all seemed to be higher, so as a matter of interest, can you say who your on line supplier was please?

The web site I used was www.autodoc.co.uk (based in Germany) and the prices were in October 2019. However, I have unwittingly mislead you over the prices. The web site prices displayed clearly include VAT. Unfortunately, in my haste, I copied the prices from the invoice which itemises the prices with out VAT and then adds the tax at the bottom! The total before VAT was £37.29. P&P £7.04 VAT £8.87, total £53.20. Still a keen price when compared to British dealer prices, but you have to know the part numbers first.

Appreciate your reply. Easy error to make with vat, but as you say, still very keen prices. Very grateful, thanks.
