Just at the end of my first test drive both new hoses that connect to the pipe with the t-connector beneath the manifold popped off. The picture below was taken when I took the car apart. I cleaned the cooper pipe and got new silicon hoses from Roose Motorsport. No matter how I try to fit the new stainless steel hose clamps - they come off again after a short drive. Is the cooper pipe "factory default"? Does anyone else had this problem? If so - how did you solve it? Thank you for any hint in advance. I have no idea if it is standard but normally there is swagged ring on the pipe the hose has to go over. Maybe try 2 clips?

Ideally there should be a bead near the end of the copper pipe and you use a jubilee clip behind it to clamp the hose. This stops it sliding off. One possible solution is to create a bead using an olive soldered to the copper pipe in a similar position. This creates a type of bead that would do the same. You can buy olives at any DIY place that sells plumbing parts.

Suggest soldering olives to the ends of copper pipes. Then a hose clip on rubber pipe just inboard of olive location.

Our 1985 CVH engined 4/4 had lengths of copper pipe in the cooling system and was original when we got it in 2003. I would say that your copper pipes are original but I did not change the hoses that you are having issues with - only the larger top and bottom hoses.
The olives idea above sounds like a plan. You could try using two jubilee clips but the olives will provide a more secure solution.

I solved that by making a collar (bead) to the copper tube. No problem for me as a plumber. There is a tool for that. But that can also be done by gently knocking on the pipes end with a hammer. Or better with a slightly thicker iron rod to open up the pipe end a little.

Thanks for your tips. After a 3rd attempt I just took the pipe out again. At least I am now well trained in changing e the coolant.... (which is easY with nice with thw new radiator from sifab) It is a stupid problem that I didn't realise straight away. The new clamps that come with the Roose hose kit are quite solid. On the bench it is easy to see that they lovelap the cute tiny olives on the pipe. None of the spare clamps I have fit perfectly - my initial thought was also to get these ends extended - i will follow your advise and have new olives soldered onto the pipe ends. Unfortunately this means I won't be able to do another test drive this weekend.... If only the pubs would br open again... I'm not surprised they pop off if that's all the 'stub' you've got. I'd expect them to be a good inch longer.

Now I see it in the close up, that tee piece is for press fit.
