I have decided to sell my very rare Plus 4 DHC as I am now unable to drive it due to ongoing problems. The car, one of the very last DHC's is also fitted with one of the last Triumph TR4A engines produced. It has had two previous owners and been in my custodianship for the past five years. During this time a huge amount of work has been carried out including professional engine rebuild with new pistons and liners, big end, main and small end bearings, cam shaft, followers, timing gear, chain and tensioner, head pressure tested, skimmed and fitted with hardened exhaust valve seats, valve guides and valves. The engine has done less than 500 miles since rebuild and is still "Running in! A new aluminium radiator is fitted along with a new electric fan and silicon hoses. A new "Spin-on" oil filter conversion is also fitted. Two new CD175 carburettors have recently been added. Since the car was last on the road a full set of AVO adjustable shock absorbers have been fitted. The original steering gear has been replaced with a Gemma box and a hydraulic steering damper added - so no "Morgan shimmy" The wheels are chromium 72 spoked with good rubber all round. I believe the body and chassis are both sound but the paintwork, although acceptable could really do with some TLC. The brightwork is all original with the exception of the grill and mesh that are new and in stainless steel. Inside, all gages etc are original as are the door cards but the seats have been re-upholstered in brown leather as per the originals. New bespoke carpets with rubber overlays are also fitted. The three position hood is the original and although serviceable is showing signs of age. During my ownership the car has always been Taxed and insured even while it has not been used. The car is offered with a copy of the workshop build sheet, a huge file of paperwork and some accumulated spares. A "MOG" number plate is offered subject to negotiation. The car has an agreed Insurance Valuation of £50k. The asking price of this very rare gem is £39,995
