When it started snowing the other week, I decided I should get something to use on the daily grind during the winter.
I looked at a few things ranging from fiat seicento to saab 9000. I found this while at a dealer looking at something else.
£300 quid later it was mine. I have done about 300 miles this week, and have spent the whole time marveling about how solid it feels even though its 23 years old (it is newer than my mog!) It's much better than the 2001 merc I had a few years ago

W123, W201(190e) and W124 were the best cars Mercedes ever built in terms of quality and reliability.

I bought this 220ce in 2005 for 4.800 Euro with full leather trim. It is still family owned, my daughter drives it now, no rust no problems at all, 200.000km on the clock and a very economic little four cyl. Only new shocks and exhaust end pot.

I am just hoping my 2006 C class runs for 23 years given the state of pension schemes etc

I did have a look at 190 on Autotrader last night after my earlier post. How did you manage to get that for £300???

That 230 on eBay does look rather tasty - trouble is, it's got to be diesel and manual for me...

Anyone want to buy a Clubman diesel???

Just in the right place at the right time I guess. As you can see from the whole car pic, there is a bit of tinworm on the wings, although the rest of it seem pretty solid (new pattern wings can be had for £40, and they apparently just bolt on!), it has only a few months MOT on it, and needs a rear wheel bearing.

Sounds like a bargain!
