Passo di Agueglio

I had to go up into the mountains above the lake yesterday. I took the shopping trolley (Subaru Justy 4x4 with winter tyres)because the roads are covered in salt and occasional sheets of ice in the shaded spots.

We seem to be getting days of light rain and snow alternating with days of brilliant sunshine. Yesterday was one such day.

I took the excuse to take one of my favourite roads over the Passo di Agueglio (altitude 1,149 metres)

Lovely scenery Peter, no wonder you took the long route.

I used to have a Justy 4WD, it was like a little mountain goat in the snow. Do they still have the engage four wheel drive button on the top of the gear shift lever? Whenever I used to press that button (which used to be red) I felt like I was James Bond and about to unleash rockets or at least drive the Justy into a lake and turn it into a submarine grin2

No, ours is full time 4WD unfortunately. It is rather heavy on fuel consumption. In Italy there is a very similar Suzuki with the same bodywork but a slightly larger engine. It is called the Ignis. I think they are both now out of production.

You "Had" to go up into the mountains! Do you realise just how wonderful that sounds?!!!!!!

Looks stunning and ideal for a mountain goat at this time of year. Beats our foggy frosty dampness!
