Thanks for posting, though I'm definitely not having that cooling fan retro-fitted to mine! wink

Agreed interesting photos, thanks for posting. So too is "David G's" post on the M3W Comfort Pack thumbs

There is a lot of good news coming out of MMC now in response to customer concerns and this 2014 model year set up looks to be well engineered.

It is difficult to see exactly from the photos posted so far (because there isn't an exact direct comparison photo set) but if I understand it correctly, the 2014 suspension appears to have a modified upright with the steering arm positioned higher up. This brings the track rod end nearer parallel with the upper wishbone allowing the track rod to follow nearly the same arc as the upper wishbone, reducing any bump steer effect. Where as, the Comfort Pack seeks to achieve a similar result on the 2012/13 suspension by fitting the vertical spacer, spherical joint and the upper secondary retention plate (to mitigate against a spherical joint failure as discussed in a previous [now deleted] thread). So, because the re-engineered 2014 set up also now allows a more conventional track rod end to be used, there is no need for a secondary restraint plate.

Not sure if "David G" or "Dab of oppo" can confirm please?

HI,
As far as I am aware you are quite right the track rod end is a conventional unit and the arm its bolted to is just raised as the comfort pack has done on the earlier cars.Th e only other alteration is that the mudguard bracket is modified due to raising the track rod end .
