Roseberry Topping and 4/4
Local landmark in Cleveland, well known to those from Teesside and North Yorkshire. Taken on Sunday, the only fine day for the last several weeks!

An iconic vista well known amongst the landscape photographer fraternity. Looks really good in monochrome Nigel

One of our favourite haunts. Waaay back we used to do Sunday lunch in "that pub" - Kings Head maybe? Quite a pleasant climb and spectacular views. MrsW wants to climb it again this year.

Lovely picture. My exs family came from up there. Late ex father in law when not on call used to like walking up there.

Great pic. 'Roseberry Topping'? Sounds like an extra on one's dessert. Gerry.

The name "Roseberry" according to local tradition came from it's Viking name, "Odin's Berg". It's halfway between Great Ayton and Guisborough, near Newton under Roseberry, where the pub Dave mentions can be found - the Kings Head. About once a week you can find me at the top of the hill with my black lab - the view is wonderful!

Nice image, also climbed that very peak, sometime in the distant past with a school trip.

Used to go up with my staffie he had no fear and I thought he would try and jump off the top edge made me feel uneasy . I came down on a damp day with my old walking boots one leg went to the left and one to the right . I slid down the grass with the dog thinking it was a game and trying to pull me with the lead Jnr laughing like crazy at me but no help from anyone . My dog died and I have not been up since but did purchase some new boots . Try the pub along the road in Carlton its different not English food .
