Dog in a Mog

300 mile round trip with my Border Collie, Ben.
Top down all the way, like you do.
Then on the way home, the light is beginning to fade as the evening sets in, and then about 30miles from home, a few spots of rain begin to splatter on us. Not much, but a little bit.
Ben sits up and looks at me as if to say..'well..are you going to do something about that?'
Oh ok Ben I say to him and at the next service station he sits there watching me faf about erecting the hood, pearing at me through the windscreen as if to say 'are you going to be long?'
Dogs eh... laugh2

I think it's all about the animal's trust in the owner/handler. If there's 100% trust there, the animal will travel in any way possible.......size permitting !

One of my Staffies used to stand outside the garage door and give one loud woof , a sort of open the door dummy your master is here . He would lye in front of the mog with the look of you aint going without me . I often wondered who was the boss ( HIM ) . Make himself comfy on the seat and give a drive on James look , but as I wrote before the wind blasted up his nose and he would keep sneazing snot all over the dash and screen , still he loved it . When parked up he just sat there and yobs never went near . We looked at a Blue one on Sunday 10 weeks old we would love another but keep saying we now have some freedom as we had problems with hotels and dogs . thumbs

My golden retriever loved the mini convertible, sat in the back with ears flying. I grew up with an Irish Setter and father had a BSA Scout, she had her yes HER bit of the back seat and if anybody sat there she simply sat on them. great memories

Pete was your Dads BSA Scout a 4 or 3 wheeler dad had a 3 wheeler BSA in the late 40s and early 50s his first car I have a photo as a baby sitting on the bonnet outside grans . Said it used clutches at a fast rate . Had dad , mam , me , aunt , uncle and there 3 children in it along with gran . No wonder his clutch went. The kids sat on knees . 150 mile to Whitby and back on the old roads dad said it took early m/ing till late night to do it , still got his old RAC stuff ( but not his badge ) . I think the scout was a 4 and the Cub a 3 wheeler. drive

4 wheeler Jack , he bought it second hand in 1938 when he was a teacher, kept it until mid 50's. We all got a bit big for it then. It was BRG and early memories of handing various size spanners as he worked on it, when the clutch went mother helped him as she had nimbler hands. She was also a teacher before the war and unlike father stayed teaching, she had an Austin Ruby before they got married at half term October 1939.
