Hi everybody. A very nice car. The Delage D8 120 had a straight 8 engine 4.3l or 4.7l in the "S" version developping 120hp. More interesting, it had an electro-magnetic "Cotal" pre-selective gearbox (same process than a Wilson gearbox). Styling of this aera was absolutely fantastic. For those of you who love, take a look also at the Talbot "teardrop", another inspirational ancestor of "our" beloved Aeromax.

What a gorgeous car. I must confess that every time I go to the rétromobile show in Paris, I come away saddened by the demise of the "interesting" end of the french automobile industry. Between the wars France was producing some of the most beautiful cars in the world - such as this Delage, but also (obviously) Bugatti, Delahaye, Voisin, Talbot Lago, and the French subsidiary of Hispano Suiza to name but a few.

I was trying to find out how much one of these would be worth in 2000 Christies had one listed with an estimate of $500,000 dollars.

In this period each car was really unique as the customer bought the chassis with engine and after that he had to choose a body maker. So in my point of view, and regarding the fact that Aeromax is a bit rare (more than a Veyron anyway!), I'd give the Aeromax status ...
