Sorry to say I owned one of those cars . . . Never saw the advert though. Sold the car with only after 8K miles. This led to my buying my 81 4/4.

Cheers,

Had to think about it for a while Roger!
Sat in one at one of the motor shows, seemed to show promise. Glad I didn't stump up any money for one though! laugh2
Mark, I guess that TR7 did you a BIG favour!!! grin2

Well Graham it must have been about 37 years ago when the advert was out! I think the troubles of the TR7s made M3Ws look positively saintly! laugh2

Graham, I guess it did. Actually I liked the TR7 Convertible (1980) but it had it's issues. There was this grinding noise when I went over a large bump. I thought it might be U Joints or something drive train related but the German dealer said it was Auspuf or exhaust. I disagreed. Never did figure that one out. Then it started eating water, a quart a day and no puddle. Turns out the freeze plugs on the side of the block expanded at a different rate as the block itself and when it got hot, coolant seeped out of the freeze plug and evaporated off the hot block. I was baffled until I saw green coolant residue on the freeze plug. Sold it and left in Germany. Headed back to the US. Had to take a Morgan brochure to the bank to explain what it was I wanted a car loan to buy. It was a high price at the time, but I guess good value for money, as the 4/4 has been virtually bullet proof for 30+ years.

Cheers,

Mark
