Excellent photos: the dark metallic blue makes the Aero 8 look absolutely wonderful.

...And dark blue in turn fully complement saddle brown and warm wood. This is a wonderful match!

However I must say that even though I find the interior eye-dropping, especially with the wood lining all around the cockpit, I'm really not convinced with the use of the Mini switch board: I find it too plasticky and too... Mini. I'd rather see old style flat switches which are more representative of a British style. But that's my [French] point of view innocent

Cheers,
Vladimir

Vladimir,

the Mini switches can be replaced by a touch screen....

Good grief, that's even worse!
I could live with the MINI switches, just about, having owned a MINI. I hope they don't go to that twiddly thing on the trans tunnel...
More parts from BMW... A stronger tie-up?

Graham, agreed I thought Mogs were all about simplicity of purpose.

I have seen numerous Morgans with unsightly sat navs on the windscreen trailing unsightly wires. How does that tie in?

My only issue with the touchscreen is that with it angled upwards in the dash, it's going to reflect a lot when the roof is down.

The use of the Mini switches I like, just not sure about the alloy panel they sit on. Perhaps a textured alloy would look more upmarket? And....where does the hifi fit?

Mine sits on the passenger seat below the tonneau, but as J says, even there it can be problematical in sunshine. My digital speedo is mounted to the windscreen (rubber suckers, pardon the expression), but with the roof off is frequently impossible to read (guess the car's speedo will have to be serviced...).
Touchscreen control of any part of a car (any car) doesn't fit with me... Dinosaur, maybe - but I have enough trouble with anything microprocessor at work to want to have to battle with while driving... smile

My issue with touchscreen controls in a car is that they are entirely the wrong solution from an ergonomic perspective, requiring you to take your eyes off the road to operate them.

Vehicle controls should be able to be operated by feel, including knowing wether they are on or off - which also makes pushbuttons a bit of a mistake too.

Toggle switches, rocker switches, rotating knobs with position detentes are where it's at in my view. Touchscreens and the like are a triumph of style over purpose, and cars are poorer for this kind of thinking.

touchscreen would jar very badly in the interior .. I would not want it even if free.
