Nice I lusted after a 2CV with a folding top as a design student but my dad who was subsidising me got me a boring Citroen LNA instead
I was still very appreciative though

Hello,
thanks for your comments guys. You can see that, although I bought my first Morgan only last year, Roadsters were on my mind since long. As a student, I couldn't afford a real one, so I modified my existing 2CV to suit my wishes. The sheer power of 25 ponies took me through the biggest part of Europe, even to Greece and Portugal. We spend many weekends on gatherings with other crazy people, sometimes even with barbecue. There was a lively club scene in many countries at that time. Later I sold the car to a friend who now has a garage specialized on 2CVs. To my knowledge it does still exist. The road-holding of the car is better than you would think, beside the tilting to the outside. I always insisted on the proper usage of the seat belt of my passengers though.

Looks stunning - great conversion I went to the 4th International Meeting of 2CV Friends in Belgium in 1981. Great meeting with cars from all over the world - literally! All kinds of 2CV conversions like a 12-wheeled garbage "truck", Merc nosed (mostly from Germany), GS 4 cyl in AMI Super chassis, 4X4:s etc etc - Lots of fun The 2CV is a great car to drive if you learn how to treat it. What it lacks in power it makes up (a bit...) in road holding and grip on dirt road and on ice - believe me, I've tried successfully. "Nothing moves you like a Citroen (2CV)"

The variety of modifications on the meetings was always impressive. Don't remember the year, but once I even joined a World meeting in Finland. The picture was taken during the World meeting in France.

The 'Finns' really like the 2CV's and I remember that there was a meeting in Finland in 1993. Happy days

I owned a 2CV Dolly for a number of years. It was grey and red. One of the best ever holidays, was when we took it to Brittany when my children were young. We were made so welcome. I don't think the locals had ever seen a polished 2CV!
