Bicester Heritage Day 26/4/15

We arrived early and managed a quick blast up the taxiway whilst being guiding all over the place.
The organiasers only had a few dedicated car parks by marque so the Mogs we scattered all over & no one knew where to put us.

Mind you most other types were scattered & the joy was seeing the eclectic mix.

A great day but on the way home I got a stone chip in the windscreen top right corner!!

No it didn't tilt. Will post more pics but also we didn't meet the owner.

Bicester Heritage is great, I went earlier this year and thoroughly enjoyed it, looks like a good mix of cars.

Adrian,
there was far more cars than in January, overspilling onto the grass around the airfield.

It was just amazing as a day out.

Nice pictures, although I'm afraid the "superb Bentley blower" is a fake! (The giveaway is the out of period registration). It seems to be based on a Rolls Royce, although it doesn't appear to be registered with the DVLA nono

There were also fake Buiggatis with disc brakes.
Either way it was a stunning machine.

What is that tilting bike/three-wheeler? I have seen photos of one of those before but cannot recall who made/makes it...

Perhaps you are thinking of the Carver, which has a single front wheel and a tilting mechanism. The car at the Heritage Centre did not tilt, but was beautifully finished. Unfortunately I was not able to talk to the owner to find out more, but the dimensions suggested that it had a complete motorcycle rear end grafted onto the front with tandem seating. I'd love to learn more if anyone knows.
It was a great day, well worth attending

No, I wasn't thinking of the Carver - definitely something with two wheels up front...but tilting. Perhaps it reminds me of that thing that Mercedes produced a few years ago. But I think that there has been at least one other.

A Bentley owning friend of mine always said "look at the pedals first it is usually a giveaway"

Sadly on that car, they are all wrong; but someone has gone to a lot of trouble and expense to create the car.

The (non) tilting three wheeler rings some bells. Possibly powered by inline BMW K series engine and drive train.

Don't you believe it Richard! You have to have the whole screen assembly including the frame...unless you are lucky enough to find a dealer who has just glass in stock. The glass manufacturer will NOT supply the heated screen glass to anyone other than the factory. Been there, tried that....replacing my cracked screen after I famously mentioned it to Charles Morgan at a TM day at the factory, and he turned away from me and avoided me ever since...was an expensive do. The car went into Williams a 4/4 Comp and came out a 3.0 Roadster innocent

It is much easier with the non heated screens as any glass supplier use to cutting flat glass will provide a screen. You still have to fit it in the frame which I understand can be quite tricky sometimes.

Guess I'm lucky to have a '76 with demisters.

Talking of 'recreations', I saw this interesting Bentley at Goodwood a while back:
