I believe they were hauled up for some of the crew names. e.g. Roger the Cabin Boy. Regrettably an urban myth. Snopes on Pugwash But still funny - so Roger the Cabin Boy!

Would be happy to do that John, but I dont know how to alter the sound to just birdsong rather than the engine noise plus the occasional yell of "no the orher bloody left you daft ..." Not that I'm admitting to it being a small 30' tug style narrow boat. Not til Friday anyway. Cheers
