playing with photoshop

Hi all,
I had second thoughts lately about the burnt orange and anthracite grey I had chosen for my aero 8 (coming in November). I thought maybe a dark blue body with dark burgundy wings might look nice (the same colors as my airplane). I had a friend of mine try it on photoshop and the verdict is in: burnt orange and anthracite grey it is and will be (at least for now).

That looks nice thumbs

Not sure about the blue and burgundy (that's a polite way of saying I think it looks awful laugh )

The 'Cruella De'Ville' Aero 8, as I like to call the red and black S1, took a long time to sell on the secondary market. I personally love it and would go that route with a factory order; however, the key to the success of it (imho) is that black and red compliment each other... I do not feel the same about burgundy and blue used in the Photoshop image.

As for orange and dark grey... I think you'd need to get the colours right. Orange and black works but if the grey is too light, I think it could look strange.

Do you have any ideas of which paint you will use? Have you seen samples on a vehicle?

I get a lot of "reserved" reactions about the burnt orange and dark grey scheme. I think that, as you say, with the right colors it will look great. I'm having samples made with different hues. Not there yet but getting close. I haven't seen the colors on a vehicle yet. Must get it right by next month. Also this is a car that hopefully I'll keep for a very long time so I have no intention to resell it if I can help it.
I agree with the burgundy and blue not being right (thanks, photoshop).

Michel, I had the same comments with my Matt black but have no interest in selling. I looked long and hard at two-tones but in the end kept coming back to the matt black.

My suggestion for you to consider is do what Boshly did. Pick a single colour, be it burnt orange or the blue and paint the whole car that colour. Then find a good graphics place to 'wrap' the wings in a colour that you like once you have the vehicle on hand. Then you can change as your moood changes.

Is the burnt orange that was used on the launch Range Rover Sport too light? I believe it is called Vesuvius Orange and was only used for a limited run in year one of production.
