Copyright Violation?

Found this pic on the internet. Riding the red carpet with my M3W.

The pic may be covered by copyright - on the other hand it is me, my car and my lovely copilot.
I was not asked for permission to publish the image.
An elderly guy with a young copilot... could run into serious trouble if not be the daughter.
Or is it public interest to publish such issues as it's a M3W?
Any solid answers available for the questions?
drive

P.s.: don't take the copyright issue too serious!
I'm happy to have the picture as I do not have a selfy stick...

If you were in a public place, where members of the public had unrestricted access, then I don't believe anyone needs your permission to take your photograph and publish it. If it was a private event, however, that may be a different matter.

It's not a copyright issue at all. It might be a privacy issue if you were not in a public place. See here: Photographers Rights: the ultimate guide.

The test seems to be "whether the place the image is taken is one where a person would have a reasonable expectation of privacy".

What Hannes hasn't added is that the red carpet led past the front entrance to the Austrian parliament building on the famous Ringstrasse. How he came to be on the carpet, as told to me by Hannes... The Vienna Classic Days rally was on. Hannes was there as a spectator but the police, thinking the 3 Wheeler was a competitor, directed him on to the red carpet. It would have been bad manners to refuse so away he went. A lap of honour! 😇

What's her phone number?

Oh sorry......copyright! Yes, as the others say, no issues regarding photos in public places being published. The photographer owns the copyright but it's really up to him/ her to make that clear.

I think what he meant was that he has used a photo off the net that maybe copywronged and he could be the one in trouble using it, although it is his car and him.

At least that is how I read it!
