That's Barry Sumners Morgan Challenge Class A race car
It used to run a 4.6ltr v8

I made the radiator and the fuel tank for it...

Thought I recognised it, that's a new engine though and it would great to know the background on the change.

Barry's old $.6 Rover was very well time served, and needed a full rebuild
He decided, that rather than sticking £XX,XXX into an obsolete engine, that he would build a modified 3.7 V6 instead...

He's had some teething issues and crashed it at Brands Hatch last year in a very wet race. It wasn't substantially damaged but it did end his season

Hopefully it will be out at the season opener at Snetterton 09/04/16

This car is the original "Black Sheep" much campaigned by Barry for many years.

When TR engines became more expensive, Barry a self taught engineer decided to go down the V8 route. Originally a 3.9 unit with quad Dellortos, but presumable later upgraded to a 4.6 . There is a wonderful photo of him lifting a front wheel off the deck going round the Goose Neck at Mallory absolutely flat out.

I don't know about the V6 engine yet, but could find out some more details if there is any interest.

He applied the same thinking on his 4/4. He decided to use a modern Zetec rather mess around with Ford Crossflow units which give trouble when tweaked to race tune , he just bought a crate engine and used that because it would give him more time racing , and less rebuilding.
