Morgans on the Dyno - TM Rolling Road Day

A few random photos from the Talk Morgan: Breakfast - Dyno - Lunch.

Thanks to Rich for planning the Rolling Road, Charlie of Surrey Rolling Road for putting our Morgans through their paces (some need some extra exercise more than others waiting ) and to the local pub for making us welcome.

A very enjoyable day and good to meet up with some regulars and also meet a new face (good to meet you Ray! thumbs ).

Also, an honourable mention to AsboJohn for taking my ribbing in such good humour. His new car is stunning hippy

Photos are in no particular order...

Mine made 353bhp (from memory - graph is still in the car in the garage - will post over the hols).

Allowing the 10-15bhp loss suggested by Charlie in the transmission it would mean it's making around the quoted 365bhp.

Good news for me is that the car is stock, so tuning is still an option and it will be off for some tweaking in the new year smile

Robert, they're not playing ball, lets just say the 'official' dyno figure is 363 Bhp by a certain series 2 car laugh

How much torque Boshers?

Seems like we'll have to head to Santa Pod in the new year so we're all walking the walk rather than talking the talk ;-)

Boshers, as your old mate Aristotle once said "One swallow does not make a summer" - why did you not run the super powerful S2 on the 2nd RR-day. That would have removed all doubt from everyone's mind that it was not just an aberration of some sort or machinery failure that got this result the first time. somestick

grin2

How would it have been an aberration... when 5 other Aeros were tested on the same day. As for not testing it again why would I want to do that. How many times do I need to test something which had three readings at the time? AND as I said before I wanted to find out what the Mustang put out before I 'fettle' with it. banghead smirk2

As for reality checks, Santa Pod would be a good indicator but methinks that a lot of human intervention takes place here (one up for the auto box I would guess) but probably a better indicator of comparison of the original day we had whenever that was, in comparison to the recent one would be to compare actual (at the wheels) power which negates any effect that assumed losses would have. Works well in a car Vs car but doesnt tell you how close to stock the output actually is.

Lastly, to Asbo, comparing "power to weight ratios" is just childish, pathetic and immature and I'm taking my ball home so you can't play anymore laugh2

You can all 'dig' and 'snipe' away, but until someone comes up with better figures my old beast still reigns supreme coffee innocent grin2 cheers

Oh Dear, rattles and prams guys? as of course as a mere 4/4 owner I can afford to be smug because the upper echelons of Morgan BHP will always be a closed book to me!

One thought does occur however, whatever it says on the dyno, its how you put it on the road tht matters, so- as long as you are happy with that, what the h*ll?
