Well worth a visit Peter!
Get on one of the trip boats and you get to experience it properly. Great piece of engineering... smile

I have never seen it "in the flesh" but I have several times looked at it on the net. It is the most amazing bit of technology. Perhaps the next time we come to the UK.

And seriously worth a visit, very reasonable charge for a boat ride up and down the wheel lift and a short canal section. Great visitor centre and something I would recommend to anyone passing nearby.

Well worth a visit. We went there on our way to John O'Groats from Edinburgh. We spent longer there than we intended.

We took the A75 west to Dumfries, then north on the A76. I think the village in the photo was Thornhill. Just north of there we turned right onto the A702 at Carronbridge.
A great Morgan/ bike road. The rain hit before we passed under the M74 (I put the hood on under the bridge). I think you stopped before that. Rob and I waited at the M74 underpass for you, but you'd gone a slightly different route. Rob and I stayed on the A702 all the way to Biggar, for coffee (and cake smile ).
At Biggar we also caught up with Geoff R.
From there to PI Selkirk after visiting the Falkirk Wheel. smile

You've jogged my memory, Graham! I remember waiting under the bridge, it was certainly pissing down, and then we all met up in Biggar for coffee and dropping our hoods again.

A fantastic weeks morganning, the inch hotel on the shores of Loch Ness was amazing. I also loved the crossing of the pass of cattle over to Applecross.
