This should be totally unnecessary on a new car. I had a major discussion with MMC in 2012 about this issue when i brought my plus 8. Here we are in 2017 and still no action taken.

Even those factory round mirrors are nowhere near as good as the aftermarket mirrors. I had the standard mirrors on my Plus 4 and changed them immediately. Shouldn't need doing. Aero Racing are missing out by not offering better mirrors if the standard offering can't be upgraded.

Many years ago, soon after buying my 4/4 from BHM, they sold me a pair of round mirrors/stems which were Suzuki motor cycle parts. They're still going strong, very neat, convex glass, they do the trick.

To be fair, although it's taken me five months to get round to it, it only took five minutes to sort, would be easy enough for Morgan to make a wee jig and do it themselves.

I am interested in this thread because, having been unable to access the Plus 8 since before Christmas due to my heart bypass opp, i was pi??ed of to find that both wing mirrors have rusted badly whilst within the weather cover (that has 2 little pockets for the wing mirrors). So i need to replace them? What would you folks recommend? a full unit replacement or just the stalks/mirrors. On the wider front does anyone else have a weather cover that has the mirror pockets and is this a "design fault". I am concious that condensation (that causes the rusting) is caused by lack of ventilation, so, as i keep the Mog in a "car barn" should i dispense with the cover to encourage free flow ventilation at all times????
