Switching from silencer path to straight through path ? I wonder what happens to the idle at traffic lights as the ecu won't like it !

As it's post cat, it shouldn't affect the ecu.

The exhaust is on the right hand side of the engine regardless of whether the car is LHD or RHD. I think the steering setup and the dash are the only things that change. Perhaps the headlights too, but not necessarily as some types are simply adjusted for LHD or RHD.

I wouldn't be sure about that. Back pressure, or lack of it, can have a big effect on the mixture requirements. To a degree the ECU will compensate using the sonda lambda feedback loop but the this will have limits to the maximum rich or lean adjustment available.
