What photo technique did you use? It makes your car look like a very fine miniature model.

It looks a bit like "Toy Mode" filter on a Leica D-Lux Typ109. I expect lots of other cameras have similar filter effects. Not just Vladimir's recent photos, but another TM'er has used a similar effect. I like it! Lovely car!

Yep, they call it 'Miniature' on Nikons, gives a really good effect for subjects like this.

Looks to me like it defocuses everything except the main subject...can it be that simple? Nick

Excuse my knowledge on photography but what does it actually do to make it look like a miniature?
The effect applies a graduated vignette mask which is then shifted out of focus, leaving the centre clear and sharp. Why does this make the subject look like a model or miniature? I think it's a perception thing. The effect simulates a picture that's got a very narrow depth of field, which fools you into thinking the picture is a close-up. Because the subject would normally be too big to see all of it when you were that close, the brain assumes it's a model, and the effect is enhanced when the photo is taken from a high viewpoint as it accentuates the perception of looking down onto a model. Here's one I did of Conwy Harbour
