We flew for 40 minutes from Sywell in North Northamptonshire to Netherseal in South Derbyshire and back with a few excursions on the route - we were navigating by roads and towns so I got a little lost at times!!!
The only thing that got shot was my nerve at times!!! :-) It was superb though.

An experience of a lifetime, you lucky bugger..!!
As an aside I live not far from Sywell, and having a Spit based there has livened up my gardening no end.. That Merlin sounds soooooo different to the usual 'Sywell Soapboxes' that drift over..!
The basing of the aircraft there has paid dividends in daytime visitors too. It's one of my bolt holes for a coffee, as the whole place is very art deco and full of ambience....and now full of ruddy people too..

Steve,
My wife and I were really taken with Sywell. The Art Deco hotel and buildings around about really works and you do feel as though you have been transported back into a bygone era. I'd love to know who does the grass......they can come and have a go at my paddock cos' I'm failing miserably!

Rob, I wished I had been there too mind you I do go to Goodwood Revival every year and there was I think 12 Spits, a couple of Hurricanes and the Lancaster in circuit a few years back and it is etched in my mind forever.
They do the pleasure flights all day long weather permitting, so with that and the racing car engines it's a Valhallah for me and my SIL.
