As mentioned earlier the screens are made out of 6mm clear polycarbonate sheet and visibility is excellent. I hate restricted vision when driving and I have experience of driving sports cars in the 60's and 70's with tiny sidescreens, hood up and pouring with rain.

There is one magnet per side N50 30mm x 5mm with countersunk hole. The steel washers attached to the sidescreens are 10mm i.d. 'rose joint' extension pieces (see ebay for details). I countersunk the i.d. and assembled the unit with a short length of rubber hose to allow some flexibilty when it contacts the magnet.

So far so good.

Very clever use of magnets.
I am personally reluctant to drill holes in my windshield brackets, and to leave the magnets attached full-time. But I might be able to come up with an alternative where the magnet is clamped onto the windshield whenever the sidescreens are installed.

You could always glue them on.

Glueing the magnets would be better (for me) than drilling, but I would rather not have the magnets on my windshield when the sidescreens are in not use. This is for esthetic reasons, not practicality.

I went out to the garage to consider how a magnet on a removable clamp might work, but it was too cold to be creative. (12 degrees F, or -11 C).
