Duramat Garage floor
The dust off the concrete garage floor in our new house was terrible. I have just fitted therefore Duramat tiles. Easy to do and what a difference. Though as you can see I still need to mop off some of the dust, but will do that when the weather breaks. https://duramat.co.uk/product/checkerpla...MkaAhpjEALw_wcBI have no relation to them but the service was excellent & the product does what it says. Given the design of the tile I think using a jack will require a board to spread the load on the flooring & avoid point loading. At a tad over £500 for a 6 x 5 garage it is not expensive

Now I see what you were rushing home to do after the Friston rally? Looks good.

Nice result, but why did you choose tiles and not a coating? Cheers, Bert

Bert, I had epoxy on my old garage floors. After a while it lifts & wear where the tyres run.
Graham, yes I needed to get both cars in that night so I needed to get the work in progress photo position.

I'd imagine that they are much better than the neoprene ones commonly available at the likes of halfords, as when the sun gets on them they expand like nobodies business!
Think I'd like yellow and black chequer board

Mark, I did think about that & am glad I didn't. The edges needed lots of cutting to fit the walls 7 the existing shelving etc. The tiles are male on 2 sides & female on 2 and as you can't turn them over then you can run out of the correct handed sides. Colour differences could have made that worse. Or you need to empty the garage & I didn't fancy that.

Nice work, it looks great. I had thought of doing this but was also worried about using a trolley jack on on it, partly due the loading and partly as a trolley jack has to roll under as you jack up or it will pull off. Had not thought of something a simple as a sheet of ply to negate both issues. That’s me, always overthinking and complicating things 🙂 I will go back to reviewing a tiled floor like this again now, I have avoided painting the floor as I have yet to see a finish that hot tyres won’t peel off. Thanks

Glad you’re happy with them, I have black and white (so that I can make a chequer pattern), when I ordered them they said two weeks delivery, after three weeks I chased them then they said they’d be on a boat arriving at the end of July (so nearly two months delivery). Sounds like it’ll be worth the wait.
