Solar Panel Array and Tesla Powerwall
The need to draw power from the grid is going to be a lot less going forward!

Wow, that some installation
Did it need planning approval, or have you got understanding neighbours ?

Planning is needed on ground array larger than 9 sqm which is basically anything more than about 6 panels.
It is only possible to see the array if you ae in our field or climb up over a 6 ft fence to see in.

We are building (started with the shop/garage and placed 20 panels on top. Fortunately our state law states the home owners association cannot object to a roof top array

In the UK it is generally ok to put panels o the roof without planning if it is not a listed building. Putting them on the ground is a different prospect.

We were an early adopter in 2011, so now we get £0.54p a Kw/h for generating power. This is index linked.
The last quater we received £654.00, tax free. For the year 2018 we received £2071.00.
This generous feed in tariff has ended, but existing agreements are valid at the contracted rate, in our case to 2036.
We have spare roof space, After seeing what the addition of a battery and control unit has done I'm tempted to add another 4kw/h array: even without any FIT it still makes sense and would reduce our consumption of grid power to close to zero, at least during the summer.

£0.5378p! We just got £642.48. That's with 4Kw and battery back up.
