Aston Martin Cygnet
During my walk to pick up a sandwich for lunch, I saw this new Aston Martin Cygnet. I wondered if it would look better in the metal than in the press shots; in my humble opinion, it did not. Perhaps it was the colour but it looked like an odious little econo-box which has been burdened with a Max Power bodykit, in the hopes of making it look like a mini Vanquish. I know they need to reduce the average CO2 in the Aston range but was this the only way?

Simon, I agree about all the noble aims but, surely to goodness, even within those parameters they could have done a better job than this. If it wasn't so bad it would be sad G

Baby Swan? or a hideous attemp to please some eco lobby or other? And you have to already own an Aston to be allowed to buy one? Is it "My Dad's bigger than your Dad", or "The Range Rover is at home on the drive"? .

Isn't that a depressing site? I would never have thought Aston Martin would have cast aside their pedigree and heritage in such a way.
I don't have a problem with cars like that, but leave them to Nissan.

There is not enough lipstick on this planet to make that pig look pretty. Why did they choose such a compromised starting point. Could they not have found something with decent hard points and proportion as a base vehicle.
Total loss of brand values. My opinion of them has dropped substantially. If it was not for the fact that the DB9 is among the most beautiful cars available and I grew up watching 007 I would cross them off my list. It makes it look like anyone who drives one needs to be concerned about their MPG by implication. Next will be a V6 Diesel.
The funny thing is that I am about to change my car and a DB9 is within the price range, yet I no longer want to be associated with the brand. Seeing this little pile of p*o confirms my decision. Fortunately for all the marketing people I have a suspicion I am not a classic profile, except maybe of lunatic in the community ?
My GTR33 was never pretty but at least it did not make you want to wince or cry when looking at it. Fit for purpose.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

A great little runabout for when I had just passed my test. They are a good manufacturer, and they are especially good at little runabouts. That's all I meant to say

A wicked thought occurred to me upon seeing this car: What if BARDI 1949 worked his magic and just did a stretch on the pictures, then it might look like a real Aston. The rear view is a total disaster in design, akin to the early Korean tin. Also wonder what is under the bonnet? 1 rubber band or 2?
If you are doing nothing, how do you know when you are finished?

Damn, that's one ugly Toyota Aygo/Peugeot/Citroen C1!
Sheesh, if I could afford an Aston Martin, this thing would give me second thoughts, regardless of how nice the rest of their cars was.
