Unusual 4/4 Sport roof

Visiting the factory earlier this week I came across this rather interesting l/h drive 4/4/ Sport waiting for despatch. Apart from a rather tasty folding screen and fittings for aeroscreens, the rear window of the traditional roof was what caught my eye!

I have just realised that I'm pretty certain I've seen this car before. Steve at Simmonds was working on a grey l/h drive Sport which he had collected from the factory; fitting a folding screen, aero screens, special hood etc for a German client.

I had a similar folding screen, and aero screens, fitted to my first Plus 8. The only problem I had was that the folding screen mechanism whistled very badly in the normal position, in the end I had it taken off and just removed the windscreen when I wanted to use the aero screens. smile

Hiya guys, I work at the factory and can confirm this hood was done by steve at simmonds, this was requested by the customer. In answer to the wheel weight queries, the time this photo was taken was before the car had gone through our PDI stage before dispatch, the car would not leave with silver wheel weights on black wheels, I can assure you of that smile

Hi Chris......welcome and thanks for confirming the hood. Certainly very distinctive but not sure about the view out of the rear!

Hi Chris, good to have you on the site. By the way, who IS Matthew Humphries? Only thing I know is that in a recent interview ( Octane, I think,) it says he likes wearing his father's cravats) ooo

regards,
G
