THE DOORS

It seems that the external door handle delete option has died with the Trads. Here is my car about to leave the factory in 2015 (photo by JAYS). Who has the last Trad to be built without external door handles?

An interesting comparison test: ARP4 versus new Plus Four.

Yes, that would be interesting. The was a test in the Auto-Motor-Sport between the V6 Roadster and the Aero +8. The testers liked the V6 Roadster more...

Ha! For a while I drove my 4/4 without sidescreens and the car looks much nicer without them. But one day, while I was bumbling along at about 70mph, a low-flying, not very large bird crossing the road from left to right struck the windscreen. It sounded like a stone. I decided that I did not wish to share the fate of the unfortunate Alan Stacey.

And, being quite tall, when I drove the 4/4 without the sidescreens, I could climb into the car without opening the door. That was rather a good party trick.

Are you sure it wasn't just a case of overdoing the Woollarding? It can be nasty when it goes wrong, don't you know? smile

Andy,
I was once approached by an an officialette at Dover and she demanded (yep, demanded) that I open the boot. Of course I told that wasn't possible. She got a little upset with me and called her colleague to assist. I could see him laughing as he approached. She did laugh in the end and didn,t ask me to open the doors as she could see that the car was stuffed to the gills with computers and luggage but it was fun for a minute or two.

Ian

Precisely! The older generation do seem to have a more relaxed attitude and the experience to know when to probe deeper and when to leave well alone.
