Story once told is worth repeating.... I was initially looking to buy a M3W, actually bid on one on BaT, but the auction ran away to over $40k. I thought....if I'm going to spend that kinda money I should think about a car with 4 wheels. Saw one on Hemmings, discussed it with my mentor (Button) and he said.... contact them see what they have to say....(enter Mid-Atlantic Morgan Cars). The one listed was a 2005 Roadster, Ivory (not a color I would have picked, but still nicely appointed, plenty of options) The price seemed a bit high to me ($62k US) and I thought...maybe I'm not destined to own a Morgan.
Mid October, the dealer called, said the owner of the Ivory Roadster agreed to take a little less money, BUT, they had just been contacted by the factory and informed there was a 2019 +4 that was in production that the buyer had backed out on...."would I be interested in that?..."its a little more money." HOLD ON....a brand new one, no miles, for "a little more?"...I think my response was …"darn tootin!" (it is a thing Cowboys from the old west say when responding in the affirmative with gusto.)
I was pleased at the color combination; Dark Metallic Silver with Yarwood Honey interior. And as it was still "in production" there were some things that I could add, alter, change....overriders, heated seats (the wife), and a AM/FM/Bluetooth radio (again, the wife). And the walnut dash, versus the painted one it had.
The dealer, again Mid-Atlantic Morgan Cars in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania has been great to work with, and have answered (with amazing patience) my never ending questions. WAS (note the caps) intending to fly from Seattle to Baltimore (Lewisberry is 1 hour north) to see the car at/near completion. With the virus those plans are on hold, but it is estimated that the car could be here mid-April.
The first road trip is already planned; ABFM in Vancouver, BC, Canada in mid-May. The shake down cruise if you will. The second trip, and an homage to Bill Button, is going down Highway 1 to Cambria, Ca to attend the MOG WEST. After those two trips I should have some stories (& pictures) to share.

Great story which has some parallels with my four wheel intro. Interesting plans ahead as well. Hope CV doesn't mess them up, and look forward to the illustrated reports
