Race Car Design of the 70s
Hello Morganeers,
I could not resist to pimp up my little 4/4 to look like a race car from the 70s. Now I am very glad that the car appears to be younger than i am ... ;-)
Technical modifications: Sports exhaust, K&N air filter, Panhard rod.
Especially the panhard rod makes a real big difference around corners.

I like your new race trim very much, especially this dark orange colour suits the 4/4 very well, Ralf. Would you say that the panhard rod allows the car still to drive with comfort or do you notice unpleasant lateral jerky movements when you drive over a bump? I don't care about the hardness of the suspension, I just don't like this sideways shaking, as I had it with a roadster with panhard rod. But with the Plus4 Supersport with panhard rod it was ok. So may be it is a question of geometry?
Oh, I see you still have those (in the wet) widowmaker tyres? Hello Heinz, Im very fine with the panhard rod and find, that even on bad roads the shaking and rolling is massively reduced. So i guess it is really a question of geometry (and maybe weight? the 4/4 weighs 350 kg less than the roadster). Regarding the tyres: I find the Contis not so bad at all, but i do drive very very carefully when it is wet. I am driving March to October and mostly in dry wheather conditions, ca. 7.500 km / year. I well get new tyres next year because they then will be six years old. Can you recommend some? Best regards and always happy morganing Ralf

Vredestein Sprint Classic are much better... Yep. I'm a big fan of the Sprint Classics.

Vredestein Sprint Classic are much better... Vredestein T-Trac 2 are also ok and half the price if Sprint Classic's are not available.

Hello Ralf, thanks for your Kind reply. I am also a fan of T-Trac 2, now on my second set. As Hannes says the price is very attractive and TBH I have no experience regarding the Sprint Classics but the T-Trac 2 are really very good in the wet. So a panhard rod could be one of my next projects as it is of low additional weight and it could be an enhancement of the road holding in the curves. But I must admit that I am already fast enough sometimes

I've had Michelin XAS's, which became absurdly expensive in the Classic range, lovely looks and a good ride in wet. After that Vredestein Sprint Classic's, after 3 years they became tricky in wet, due to hardening of the compound. I now have Michelin XZX's, less expensive than the XAS's but still a Classic look and a good ride both in dry and wet conditions. Note I have the narrow 165/80 ones on my 4/4 4-seater.

Many thanks for all the useful tipps regarding tyres. I guess i will go for the vredestein sprint classic. a friend of mine has these on his MG and is very satisfied by it. and they look great with this classic profile.
