Silverstone Classic 2011
A great weekend (despite a wet Friday evening and cold Saturday!).
CranMog did a grand job and we look set to return next year with even more cars. I think we had over 60 cars at one point. (Not sure we will beat the record of over 800 E Types on the circuit but we can try!!)

It was an excellent day Frank.  By the way, MrsW hates Silverstone, so I make other arrangements. Usually I take FuSiL, so MrsW can spend time with DocW. That way we're all happy. In fact on Saturday it was a simple choice. Silverstone or a 90th birthday bash..........

I would sy the SC gets better (and bigger) every year. The freedon of access to pits and the less formal atmosphere than say the Revival makes it possibly the best three day event of the year.
I also think the Friday is the best day too.

It's a remarkable event. But with some illogical demands.
There were Routemaster buses shuttling between the International pits and the old pits. On the short stretch where the two parts of the new circuit pass close to each other you are not allowed to walk. You must take the bus.... or go by car, by quad, by motorbike, by scooter, by Segway, by pushbike..... BUT you can't walk. Now that makes NO SENSE.
When you get to the International pits you are allowed to walk through the garages (which are full of racing cars) onto the pit straight.............even with a race in progress, although presumably they were using the old pits when we did this.....

I'd agree with you Dave it was a nightmare trying to get back to the Stowe circuit after getting a lift out in the MMC golf cart, and it took 20 minutes in the bus to do a loop in the wrong direction that took us back to 20 yards from where we caught the bus.
