Another lock-down slide show

More product from the darkroom.

This slideshow includes two images taken at Montrueil-Bellay in the Loire Valley in 2014, by the Chateau. We had stopped for coffee when 4 or 5 Morgans arrived along with a Citroen DS19 and a couple of 50's Renaults. At this time we were not considering the purchase of a Morgan or any other kind of classic car, just enjoying our holidays. Five years on we bought a Plus 4 and I wonder if the idea sloshed around in our sub-conscious triggered by this event. The cars were beautifully turned out and I realise now, were tricked out with every possible accessory including matching leather centre consoles which I assumed at the time were a standard feature.

Who can identify the authors in the image of the bookshop in Ljubljana?

Taken with Nikon F2, Hasselblad X-Pan and a (borrowed) Hasselblad Superwide cameras.

By the way, tell me to stop if this is not appropriate.

Very nice Kev. Particularly like the panoramic shots (sold my X-pan years ago - must scan some 6x17s). Please do NOT stop! thumbs

Hi Graham, I like the X-pan and I know that many did not get used to the different way of seeing. I’m the third owner, it had about a 1000 exposures when I got it and soon after had to go off to have the drive train (?) repaired which is not very ‘Hasselblad’. Do I recall you mentioning that you had the 6x6 Hasselblad system? 6x17 must be a monster to haul around, and enlarging a bit of a challenge. I have a book called New York Vertical shot with that system which I like a lot, the author got up high and precarious with that camera, I wonder if you also use it handheld?

I have to admit to enjoying viewing the photographic images captured by those with a degree of artistic skill, gained either through study or being born with a degree of natural ability or both.

I have been recording that which interests me photographically for many years. my own attempts at photography are best described as record keeping as opposed to art, for it seems I lack artistic ability... I have since retirement managed to acquire semi-pro kit, and have seen images captured on a smart phone that impress me more than any I have managed to capture with my kit... But I keep trying.. (-: Thus I do enjoy the opportunity to view images captured by real photographers, and being mechanically and architecturally inclined, with an interest in the female form, it seems TM has an eclectic mix of researchers and photographers to maintain my photographic interests during these trying times.... THANKS all. thumbs

+1. I have a Swedish friend and his skill is stunning. My efforts always seem to be snaps.

I just noticed that the image of the bookshop did not load so apologies to anyone who spent hours looking for it. Next time.
