The corvette is In amazing condition, runs like a Swiss watch too. Wash the car this afternoon, the rain helped out😁 I actually bought some new stuff, a fancy bucket with a dirt grill and a fluffy mitten. My standards have slipped over the years, it’d be a shame to go back to the yard broom and the swilled out recycling bin! ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/10/14/IMG_8309.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/10/14/IMG_8311.jpeg)

It'll be a while before you tire of catching sight of that beauty out of the corner of your eye!!
Vettes are under-rated ... they're miles away from the unsophisticated V8 tractors a lot of european car nuts mistake them for.

It’ll also be a while before i’m accustomed to the steering wheel, there are no stalks, it’s all buttons on the wheel, I couldn’t guess how many functions there are, it’s good fun though and since there so much for them to do, there are no idle hands for the devil to find work for! The rainbow picture above show the front splitter well, it’s more intricate than it first appears.

Fundamentally they’re identical, both 660hp just cosmetic differences in the specifications, my new one is only a year newer. The final V8 mid engined run out version is the F8, they’re 720hp, but they’ve a DPF on the exhaust so there’s not much of a note. Now all replaced with the V6 hybrid 296 which I think is about 800hp! They do actually make other stunning colours, for a very brief moment, I even considered a brown one with tartan seats currently for sale😂 I assumed that would be the case but wasn't sure if Ferrari tweaked with the cars during a production run (mid cycle changes). Did your previous one have carbon sills and the centre slat for the air intakes or is that standard and the new one has body coloured? As for the brown one with tartan seats, after you mentioned it, I took a look on Autotrader... you'd have to be very brave or have a devil may care approach to resale. I know many of the car makers tried to bring back metallic brown, bronze, etc and, in spite of the revival of many 70s fashions and colours in all manner of current products, metallic brown is always going to be an acquired taste imho.

I’ve seen side sills in back plastic so I guess that was the no cost option. The last one had carbon sills, carbon intake element and the rear diffuser in carbon, these would have cost a fortune when specified new. I wasn’t entirely convinced with look, I’m happier with the coloured sides and although the carbon diffuser looked good, you’d to look hard to notice and it’s highly likely I’d scuff it, i scuffed the 430 more than once! This one has more carbon on the interior than the last one and the very unusual ( for this model) Alcantera interior which turned out to be even nicer looking than I thought, it might not be so easy to sell later though, black or cream leather is by far the most popular. My 430 had the big old man seats, they were very comfortable and looked good but this time I wanted the carbon race items. They’re so much nicer in every way but a word of warning, I’ve a well fed friend who I took out for a spin, I had to open the roof to get him out! These seats are low and hugging, short or tall is fine, round, not so much. The Matte golden wheels are a Pista colour, bight silver is the standard which would be my 2nd choice but everyone seems to have black. Both my 488s had black but I requested the change, I think they’re ace, they even look good dirty! ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/10/15/IMG_8313.jpeg)

Out at the shed to plant a couple of trees I’ve fallen heir to, apparently deer don’t like Bay leaf do they might survive. I took a closer look at the Zodiac, right enough, Straight six, actually seems to be a well made lump of metal. A set of gold wheel and from a distance, it could look like a 488😁 ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/10/15/IMG_8320.jpeg)

I passed my test in an Audi coupe, I’d forgotten all about that! The weather this weekend will be rubbish here so I’m taking every opportunity to go a quick run. Darkness falls quickly now though, there’s only half an hour between the lighthouse and the country road. ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/10/17/IMG_8328.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](http://tm-img.com/images/2023/10/17/IMG_8350.jpeg)

Really enjoyed these pics Ewan. The dynamic range of modern photographic devices is amazing. I captured a similar pic of my neighbours pair of Nissan Skylines with an interesting ..err.. skyline too, in my case were it not for the added advantage of a bit of manipulation using my limited post production attempts on my computer the pic would look nothing like the scene when I pressed the shutter button..
