I have the opposite dilema. I am not so keen on the wider wings but aesthetically I prefer the fatter tyres and I need them as I am concerned about the ride height of the lower profile tyres - all of which pushes me towards the fatter Sport black wires and the consequent widening of the wings
Are the wider wings really that noticeable anyway? I don't think it makes a huge difference. If anything I think it's the absence of tread rubbers on the wings that makes some Plus 4's and Roadsters look wider from the side. Tread rubbers break up that wide expansive side wing and that's why I prefer them aesthetically. Of course they make no difference to the view from the front.
