Have a look at [url=http://www.ram-mount.co.uk][/url] they do mounts for iPhones. I use a suction mount to the dashboard which works well and doesn't mark the finish. I've also a Ram mount fitted under the dash to the steel cross bar with a long Ram arm and Mounting base which is very adjustable.
For the benefit of those South Western country boys ;)an iphone is the modern equivalent to a pair of bake bean tins and string!
