Bobajobbob,
I faced the same issues when I got my 1995 4/4 back in 2004. I installed two speakers in the rear side panels and used a Sony radio to which I wired the speakers as the "front" speakers and wired the "back" speaker outlet to a 3.5mm socket mounted on the rear bulkhead between and behind the seats. when pottering about I used the speakers, otherwise I used earbud speakers from Starcom which are for a motorbike and just attenuate the road / wind noise - all other sounds are fully audible. Sony produce a wired remote which I mounted on the rear of the transmission tunnel as when the radio is mounted up under the heater you can't get at it!!

Sony's current radios handle the iphone and /or ipod with external mic for phone calls.

I have this set-up also on my current 2009 plus4 and it works very well both for phone on the move(handsfree!!) and as a radio.

PM me if you want further details/ photos etc

cheers and enjoy your Mog!!
