John, Thanks so much for the number, a very helpful engineer has looked at it and it is been recovered to the nearest dealer (not tyhe one I bought it from).
THe battery is not charging and he is happy the battery is not at fault. He thinks that this should have been picked up by the dealer, but I will wait for the final verdict before casting any 'stones'.
I guess my plans for the next couple of weeks are now all out the window....
