The 911 is a great car, no question. So is the Morgan..... The Ford GT is no good for Waitrose, the Range Rover is. Blah blah blah!
The review didn't irritate me (I have no tension
), and I thought it merely compared two wildly contrasting cars. When you've owned performance cars and ultimately go for a Morgan, you're doing so for entirely different reasons than before.
I'm about to go out for the day in my new Roadster. The sun is shining. I'm looking forward to it. Very much. I wouldn't have the same feeling if it was a 911 - despite the Porsche being a lovely car. It's not individual, not colourful, just another bland sportscar that does what it's told. Would I marry a Porsche, or would I choose something with more spirit?
Hmmmmm..... Now there's a thought. If the Morgan was a woman..... What would she be like?
