Bird Poo - Cleaned it off but it has left a mark on the paint. Any advice for getting this off -it seems to have "eaten" into the paint!!!

I had a couple of large spots from very diluted splats which I had not noticed on my very dirty car when I returned from the Grande Tour
. My car was given Autoglym Life Shine early on in its life but the Poo still left marks in the surface
I have a tube of one of those patent Scratch Removing Pastes and used that to remove the marks left.
Lots of Elbow Grease using a large pad to spread the effect.
After washing the area I then coated the whole area with Autoglym Wax and all is well again with no demarcation
