If you read up on the history of the Plus 8 it begins to make sense. It ended production in 2004 because the Rover V8 engine was no longer being produced, whilst Morgan already had a relationship with BMW by then the BMW V8 was too powerfull to bolt straight into the Plus 8 chassis.

I'm guessing that is why the Roadster was born, I suppose they could have continued with tradition and called it the Plus 6. I have no idea why they didn't?

The question begs as to why they waited 8 years to bring back the Plus 8 since they had already created it in the form of the mule for the S1 Aero, presumably in the late 90's ??

The new Plus 8 is a phoenix from the ashes!!
