I agree with those up-thread who say that that the biggest threat on the road to mature, sensible motorcyclists is the myopic car driver.
Try a google search for "Motion induced blindness motorcycle", the test proves a point. It maybe helps explain why bike riders think no one sees them. I am sure there are not many car drivers who are out to kill bikers.
