First car I drove - Orion 1.6i - plenty of poke, and good suspension (well there are a lot of humpback bridges in Devon and flying is fun when you're 17!)
Then ahd the use of a 1.4 205 for a year or so (thanks mum!) and occasional use of various granda scorpios (thanks dad!)
First car I bought for myself 1.2 Astra Merit 4 speed, full of rust and had been 'stored' in a peat bog for some time of it's life. Ran that car from 19 until I was 25 - sold if for 250 quid. By that time the sills were pretty much all welding...
At 25 I bought an MGF and the sports car thing got more serious....
